Foodie Pen Pals is a fun program started by Lindsey at The Lean Green Bean. Basically, it’s a “snail mail” program where you get to send a complete stranger a box of fun food goodies. All the while, another person is sending you one! Of course, there are some other rules so be sure to read about them and sign up here. If you want to be in on the November pen pal list, you have until the 4th to register.

“My October Foodie Pen Pal box arrived packed full of delicious treats from Toni. The contents featured items from the Indiana Amish country, which I loved! A funny thing was, I had been looking for sorghum, but could only find molasses in my local supermarket. I used the sorghum immediately in a recipe for old fashioned baked beans and a family recipe for sweetened corn pone. It was a wonderful dinner! The package also contained Amish microwave popcorn, the “ladyfinger” variety. I love the tiny, fluffy kernels. I also love the purple popcorn with the sweet caramel glaze. We washed it down with the old fashioned sarsaparilla. Looking forward to trying the Amish noodles, but the recipe on the back is very similar to one I use all the time. Plus, it’s perfect weather for some nice warm chicken and noodles. Loved the package and we had so much fun trying everything inside! Thank you!”
