Our in-town tomato garden.

Five plants.

All different varieties of heirloom tomatoes. Here in northwest Indiana, we’ve had a wonderful growing season. The plants are are tall, healthy and have green tomatoes all over them. So, WHY ARE THEY NOT TURNING RED? For some reason, I have it in my head that I was already eating home grown tomatoes by this time last year and years prior. However, most people I have been talking to in the area, don’t have tomatoes either. Certainly, my impatience is not getting the best of me.

Anyone who is a regular reader of my blog knows that I try my hardest to feed my family clean, whole and organic foods, and that I encourage others to do the same. Although, sometimes I battle. I battle with different beliefs I have in our food system. For example, my latest battle is local v/s organic foods. ARGH. Being right in the height of gardening season, how do I possibly choose to buy an organic product shipped from California over a more local product that is not certified organic.

I suggest you sit down for this. Psssst…sometimes I don’t buy organic. *GASP* During the summer, local produce is growing everywhere. People are GIVING us pounds upon pounds of fruits and vegetables to do with what we will (mostly canning and freezing.) Vegetable carts are overflowing with gorgeous garden goodies. Even local products in other areas of the state or in surrounding states are better than something that is shipped from far away. I always take advantage of this bounty around us. It’s quite an amazing area, this Midwest.

For the past few years, I have been lucky enough to perserve jars of tomatoes to last us throughout the winter. But, when we reach this point in the summer, those jars are long gone. When my tomatoes aren’t ripe yet, I turn to the grocery store shelves. Are you familiar with Red Gold Premium Tomatoes? Red Gold is an Indiana based, 3rd generation family-owned company that has been making premium quality tomato products since 1942. That’s over 70 years of experience. The Midwest, while it’s cold in the winter, has the perfect growing season for tomatoes, perfect angle of the sun, perfect temps — and even the winter is good for tomatoes as it breaks up the soil for tiny root systems. I’m always proud to find out that companies are producing products from our home state…even if they aren’t organic, they are local.

In both components of paper 1, there are certain parts that can be memorised,
for example, the ending paragraph, is basically flattery and can be memorised to improve
the level of sophistication compared to writing your own style.

Create a set of smaller eggs and write an Easter greeting across them.

They post those photos in Facebook and they receive a
lot of good comments. Wedding photography needs a person to set
up the main equipment I-e camera each time wants to take different pictures.
For example, even couple years ago we spent at least 2-3 hours before getting an image,
because almost all stages of process of creating 3D picture were manual.
